Marketing is a funny thing. Companies will often go out on a limb to create an image that excites consumers and makes their brand stand head and shoulders above the rest. Sometimes, though, even the general public is not taken in by the end result. Whilst thousands of X Factors fans scream “down with auto-tune,” golfers are expected to swallow the notion of an eco friendly golf course!
Despite the fact that golf courses are notoriously associated with wasting water and of pesticide over kill, one golf course is looking to overhaul this image and be seen as green! Cambridgeshire Golf Club have revealed their plans in The Independent to become the first Organic Golf Club in the UK!
The club plan to market their new eco status to their advantage, by being chemical free and applying for organic certification from the Soil Association. They even have wildlife living on their out of bounds areas!
Golfing promotional merchandise and golfing related promotional products have always been very popular, but in this case, perhaps eco promotional products and sustainable promotional merchandise are more suitable!
