Supermarkets drive down uniform costs

As the school term fast approaches, many families will be dreading the annual school uniform shopping trip. With budgets tighter than ever, this is one expense many families could do without. Helpfully, supermarkets have been locked in a price war for the past six years.

Research by Verdict has established that school uniform costs are now “lower than ever before”, since supermarkets have severely deflated prices to try to get a share of the £694 million that is spent annually on school uniform and school equipment.

However, whilst many schools had previously adopted more relaxed school uniform rules to accommodate parents purchasing uniforms of all different shades and designs from different shops, there is a growing trend back towards a more unified uniform.

Specialist sites that offer personalised uniforms have cropped up all over the internet and, as with many personalised promotional products and items of personalised merchandise, these need not cost as much as you think.

High quality, Fruit of the Loom personalised products, available in a range of colours can start from a budget friendly price of just £3.75. This promotional merchandise can be personalised to include school names or logos.
